Bob Maas (‘s-Hertogenbosch, 1952) started The Black Box in 1996, as a way of offering courses to deal with human behaviour.

He studied at the Utrecht School of Arts to become a teacher. He specialised in analysis and clarification of the problem-solving behaviour of children, young people and adults. Even before completion (1983) of his studies, he was recognised for his insight into behaviour, and especially the behaviour of people having to perform under increasing pressure.

Upon graduation, he was able to deepen his expertise through his many contacts with artists, philosophers and successful entrepreneurs. Their insights and experiences are wonderfully translated in his courses, in clearly written and beautifully illustrated material.
